Soda in Water Fountains

I LOVE FOUNTAINS OF ANY SORT!

Those beautiful fountains placed in front of majestic buildings, soda fountains filled with my favorite beverages like cream soda and root beer, and last but not least a "blast from the past" the life-saving school water fountains we quenched our immeasurable thrist with after a a traumatic game of dodge ball or a frantic game of kick ball during recess.😀

Really? A school water fountain?

"Lucy! You have so 'plaining to do!"...LOL😄

This morning I was reading a passage of Scripture from Isaiah that got me thinking about a personal experience with water fountains. First, let me share the passage:

Isaiah 12:3-5,

With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation!

In that wonderful day you will sing: "Thank the Lord ! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.✝

Before I knew God, I was constantly and desperately thirsty in my soul! Nothing from this world seemed to quench it. And the only thing that could and would quench it was God's fountain of salvation through His amazing Son, Jesus. By giving up His life completely for me I was able to find a new life in Him because He provided a fountain for me that never runs dries on me.💗

Now the story.

I was attending Litchfield Elementary School. It was 3rd grade and a life changing opportunity had come my way via my classmates. Every month we would vote for a new class president but to run you had to be selected by your classmates to run. Democracy was alive and well at Litchfield!

At last, my time came. I had dreaming about this for months! My campaign...HAWAIAN FRUIT PUNCH FROM THE WATER FOUNTAINS! It was both daring and ground-breaking...not to mention delicious! 🥤 I couldn't lose. But I did.😫 My running mate had a similiar idea except it was Cherry Icees. Who knew?😲 Needless to say, she was never able to fulfill her campaign promise and neither would I have either had I won.

You see, in life our body craves for something through thirst. Why? Because thirst reminds us that we need something life-giving...WATER. And our souls do the same thing...they crave for something that is life-giving as well...JESUS!✝

God does not promise us sugary drinks from a fountain but what He does promise us is a fountain filled with what we actually need...HIS LOVE THROUGH HIS SALVATION.👑

So, I close with today's blog with one more scripture passage (Jesus and the Women at the Well):

John 4:13-14,

Jesus replied, "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life."

Thirsty? Talk to Jesus. Receive the joy of His salvation and never be thirsty again.🥛
